I have a lot on my mind

What just happened . . . ?

Does anyone else feel like they were run over by a train in 2020? I stepped away from coaching to work full-time in my degreed industry, and I was miserable, but "essential" and making money.

In early December, I was told that all of my hard work - monitoring 2 positions, tracking a ton of information, becoming the pivot of the office, etc while simultaneously dealing with terrible anxiety, caring for my dad in our home and the kids having a bumpy road to distance-learning and transitioning to in-person school, the boss giving someone at work COVID, and working a month+ without that person in the office - hadn't been good enough and they were cutting my pay and moving me to an administrative position.

I'm frustrated, stressed out, angry at the close-call with COVID and general lath of respect for others' attempts to stay healthy.

So I'm saying no to the disrespect and moving back to a saner life. I'm lucky that I am able to remain on good enough terms with the job to work there part-time until another opportunity is ready for that (I'm not jumping off a cliff without a parachute), but until then, I am taking time to learn more, network with people I really enjoy, and making connections. Even if I'm visiting them with a mask on and not shaking hands.

I'm also going to start journaling, and I've decided that journaling includes copying good insights from emails/FB posts/Reddit comments, and I'm using the app Journey. Join me if you'd like to get things out of your head this year and make strides to better mental health.

    I am overwhelmed, I am tired, but I am determined. My children deserve to enjoy the benefits of our ADHD gifts, and so do I.
